Health Insurance Plan offered by HDFC ERGO
How do you make a strong health insurance cover portfolio?
HDFC ERGO offers two types of Health Insurance plans to choose from as shown below.
Indemnity Health Insurance plans:
Indemnity insurance compensates the policy holder for the actual financial losses, even if the actual sum insured of the policy is higher. However, the cover amount can be utilized multiple times maximum up to the sum insured. Indemnity covers the listed expenses, like in case of a Health insurance policy, which covers:
- The hospital room rent costs
- Doctor’s fees
- Operation theatre charges
- Pre- & post- hospitalization charges etc
This is in contrast to, a lump-sum benefit plan, where the amount of the insured’s financial loss is not the criteria for insurance payout.
HDFC ERGO offers an array of indemnity products under Health Plans.
Lump-sum benefit Health Insurance plans:
With lump-sum benefit plans, the entire sum insured is paid on occurrence of the covered event. Like in case of critical illness benefit plan, the entire sum insured amount is paid in lump sum on first diagnosis of the any one of the listed critical illnesses. This plan is intended to support the insured where there are miscellaneous costs such as
- Rehabilitation or physiotherapy
- Follow up medical investigations & diagnostic tests
- Any aids or purchases like ergonomic furniture & house modification
- Dietary supplements
- BP monitoring machines, etc. Incurred when diagnosed with these life-threatening diseases.
The amount can be utilized by the policy holder for debt payments, any loss of income, etc. HDFC ERGO’s Lump sum benefit plan for Critical illness is as displayed below:
